Deloitte has cut 250 jobs in the UK, with the firm letting go of staff across its advisory divisions who were deemed to be underperforming. Deloitte last month announced plans to make around 800 redundancies amid a slowdown in demand for its services in a challenging market environment. Richard Houston, senior partner and chief executive at Deloitte UK, said the cuts followed a “slowdown in growth, which, combined with the ongoing economic uncertainty, means we have to consider the shape of our business.” Deloitte’s UK arm saw revenue rise 2.4% for the year to May, with this down on the 14% increase recorded over the previous 12 months.
