Luxury flats restrict food couriers

Parkgate Aspen, manager of the Canary Riverside luxury apartments near Canary Wharf, has banned Deliveroo, Just Eat, and UberEats couriers, citing press claims about “undocumented” workers and heightened security concerns linked to nearby protests over asylum seekers at the Britannia hotel. The ban, long planned but fast-tracked after resident requests, applies only to takeaway couriers, not grocery services like Ocado or Tesco. While management says feedback has been largely positive, some residents criticised it as arbitrary. Delivery firms rejected the claims relating to undocumented workers, stressing their strict legal compliance and audit trails, with zero tolerance for illegal working on their platforms.
